Book Description

June 1 1998
No one in the tiny town of Boothill, Texas, knows the real Shaun Murphy. Heck, most of them don’t even know his first name – and that’s the way Murphy likes it. But he can’t hide from the pretty young postmistress, Letty Madden. Letty’s brother is missing, and she knows Murphy’s the only one who can help her find him. But Murphy doesn’t need her money. And so when Letty comes to him, her begging brown eyes as dark as bittersweet chocolate, he makes her a very indecent proposal. Letty Madden is a woman of grit and faith, a woman with a mission. She’ll do anything to get her twin brother back, even if it means giving herself to Murphy. But their rendezvous is far more passionate than they ever expected…and sooner or later, they’ll have to face the fact that they’ve fallen wildly in love.

I love to read a book you can get involved in along with the characters. Someday Soon and Sooner or Later are those type of books, but I am left to wander what will happen to Jack? Is there a woman out there for him? Please write him a happy ever after he deserves one. Better Late Than Never?

4.0 out of 5 stars This would make a great movie!!! April 12 1998

Format:Mass Market Paperback
This sequel is the story of another Deliverance Company mercenary, Shaun Murphy--a rough, tough, unmanageable alpha male, who's hired by a prim and proper Texas woman to find her missing brother in a terrorist-ridden Central American country. His price? One night with her! Letty Madden, who is stubbornly intent on accompanying Murphy, becomes a force with which to reckon, and Murphy's sure she's his punishment for never caring about anyone. And, as he says in a letter back to his boss, "...hell, buddy, I'm in big trouble. Getting out alive is the least of my problems."

2.0 out of 5 stars Exciting adventure-romance Aug. 21 2005
By Donna K. - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
This is second book in the Deliverance Company mercenary series, between Someday Soon (Cain's story) and Moon Over Water (Jack's Story), about unscrupulous but likable heros who rescue victims of third world terrorists. I wish I had realized that this was a series so I could have avoided reading the books out of order!

Adventure romances are a refreshing change of pace for me, and I really found myself on the edge of my seat while reading. The torture of victims and killings were told in rather gruesome detail, but all-in-all, an interesting and exciting story.

2.0 out of 5 stars Sooner or Later Sept. 1 2007
By Wendy K. Gieser - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
This was not the usual Debbie MaComber book. I read her books because I am sick of reading "sex" novels and this one was just a tad too graphic for me. She could have handled the first chapter or two much better than what she did.

2.0 out of 5 stars This isn't Debbie Macomber's best work March 28 2010
By CatLover - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
I love Debbie Macomber so it was hard for me to give this book just 2 stars, but I found the basic premise too unbelievable to enjoy the book. A mercenary "forced" to take a young woman into a hostile area b/c she called his bluff? The hero and heroine exchanging snappy reparte and ruminating about love while in the midst of enemy-held jungle? Debbie Macomber writes "nice" books that make you feel like there are good people with good values in the world. They are a refreshing escape from the news and from "serious" fiction. But this one just doesn't work for me. I don't expect total realism from romance novels but there has to be some plausibility. If you love Debbie Macomber, and can't stand the thought of missing one of her books, by all means buy this. But if you are new to the author, read some of her other work first -- don't judge her by this. It is not up to her usual standard.
