Having owned my fair share of $100 - $300 headphones I was excited to get these.
Looks.
They fold up nicely into a little case (a plus). They have nice quilted padding on the top band (feels nice and looks nice). The are shiny and draw attention to themselves - thats for sure. Im not sure this is a plus for me as I usually don't try to draw attention. Day one of wearing them in public to a library I get asked 'yo, yo - how you like dem beats?' I had to correct the gentleman that these ain't no beats - but were SOULs. But the point is that someone took notice of them.
Sound.
I believe speakers need to be worked a bit before you can tell how they are actually going to sound. So as soon as I got these I attached them to a computer, turned the volume to about 75% and let my MP3 collection play. There is a wide variety of music in there and I let it play for a week. You can tell a difference between what they sound like on day one versus day 8. The sound is good. There is lots of clarity even playing MP3s. You will be able to tell the difference between the bitrates of your MP3's. I have a set of Beats to compare these to and I can honestly say they are about even. I still prefer my sennheisers as I think the sound is just warmer.
Function.
I like that they come with two cords. One has ipod controls on it and the other doesn't. Ive been known to break a cord a time or two so it is nice to have a spare. The controls worked like they are supposed to with my iPhone and my nano. One thing I don't like about them is the size of the ear cuffs fits snugly around my ears as opposed as having more space. It feels weird and I don't like it.
All and all I think they are a nice set of headphones. I don't think I would buy another set if these break but they are nice.

i have these and the beats solo hd and there is obviously no competition
right out of the box, they look cooler and are 10 times more comfortable
after listening to them for a while it was also clear that the sound quality is much better although they do leak some sound as with the beats
if your looking for a really great pair of headphones, at $200 each these are so much nicer than the beats
Pros:comfortable, stylish, great sound
Cons:leak some sound

I'm comparing these to my beats studios, beats hd, vmoda LP2 and my vmoda v80 true blood edition.
SQ - I'm so amazed that they are on par with my vmoda v80 (best of the bunch) and my Ludas have yet to be broken in...used only for an hour max. I like it better than the rest though. Ludas bass sound a just a hairline less than the beats studios. I listened to TYGA-STILL GOT IT for bass comparison and the rumbling is noticeable in the beginning of the song. Listening to my usual song to test clarity is THE EAGLES-HOTEL CA and I can say that it sounds crystal clear....closing my eyes and just focusing on the entire song, the soundstage has a 3d atmosphere like my vmodas. Mixing it up with some acoustic music and rock, it does a fairly good job to my surprise. These can definitely be my weapon of choice when doing cross training workouts and lifting weights but not suitable for my 8 mile weekly jog...Thats the job for my cheap skullcandy in ears.
Durability - never tested but living in an active lifestyle, the only headphones I broke were the cheap in-ear kinds since they are not sweat proof. All the headphones I listed had their fair share of perspiration from the gym. Durability and longevity is up to the user, but advantage goes to the vmodas due to their bendability...they are made for abuse.
Comfort - it still hasn't been broken in but it does really press on ur ears and I have to occasionally take em off. My solos felt the same way when I initially used it but now it feels wearable. Maybe just a few days and i'll get accustomed to the Ludas. The studios will rate the highest on this category. I can sleep with them listening to my sleep apps. Second goes to both vmodas due to their tempur pedic-like cushion. I wouldn't recommend the Ludas/solos for sleep...you'll wake up to a throbbing head.
My personal rating for SQ
studios -4 for BASS ONLY since I like the loud bass for getting me pumped up but soundstage is mediocre for the price
hds -2 I gave these to my sister..nuff said
lp2 -3 moderate
V80 -5 absolutel eargasm
LUDAS -5 has the bass of the studios with sound clarity of the v80
