I bought this to listen to on a two and a half hour car ride with my three kids ages 8, 6 and 2. All three of them like the Wizard of Oz, but my two and half year old is obsessed with this movie and I was hoping this would keep her happy for at least part of the ride. This CD contains all the songs from the MGM movie and some instrumental scores as well. It also contains a couple of songs that must not have made the final cut into the movie. There is a song called "The Jitterbug" which sounds like the four main characters singing about being afraid while walking through the forest. There is also a reprisal of "Ding Dong the Witch Is Dead" which sounds like it is being sung by the witch's guards after Dorothy melts the witch and takes her broomstick. The beginnings and endings of some of the songs are often choppy. It seems like they didn't want to fade in or out and risk getting any dialogue on the track. The whole CD is about thirty minutes. It was worth the ten dollars I spent. (Hearing a fifteen year old Judy Garland singing Over The Rainbow like a seasoned torch singer is alone worth the price.) My guys now want to see if we can buy the actual audio track of the Wizard of Oz. Hearing the music made them want to listen to the whole movie. Now that CD, might actually kill the time getting from Chicago to Michigan.

I Loved-Loved-Loved this cd. If you liked the music from the classic movie, then this cd is the audio treasure for you. Some of the tracks are short because they were that way in the movie. Your next step might be to find the musical soundtrack cd. I don't know if there is one but, like many movies, The Wizard of Oz probably has one. If there is such a cd, GRAB IT.But, to get the musical tracks FROM the movie, THIS CD IS FOR YOU.

I am a nanny to two children ages 4 1/2 and 2. They are too young for the Wizard of Oz movie, but they really love the music. It is well done and a nice tribute to the original movie. When they are older and finally do see the movie, they will be soooo familiar with the songs and voices.
