get don't always have to use it, but it helps March 9 2013

The best thing about the continent lonely planet guides is they show you the many ways and places you can cross form one country to another.
Otherwise, they are light on info compared to country specific books.
This guide is boring compared to say, Asia Eleven 11 Great Towns to Live in Southeast Asia an inexpensive Amazon Kindle e-book, but it is good to have because you might otherwise miss something you really want to see in the area you are in, simply because you do not know it is there. And,it helps "make sense" of things.
You don't have to have your nose in it all the time, though.
