A "Must Have" Nov. 13 2012
By NancyR - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
This is a must have addition to anyone who uses a crockpot. Often, the problem in any cookbook is finding enough recipes that you will actually make and enjoy to make the purchase worthwhile. Once again, Southern Living does not disappoint. These receipes are make and make again, with great variety, easy to find ingredients, easy to make, and great tasting. I've already made over a dozen of the recipes and all with great success. This book is so fabulous I've purchased books for my 23-year-old son and my mother, who both also love the book!

Great recipes! Oct. 1 2012
By Susan Voorhees - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
I found this book at my library and since I love slow cooker cookbooks decided to take it out to see if there was anything good in it. I found so many recipes that looked very good and were easy to put together. I tried the Pastitsio and it was delicious. I also tried the Chicken Paprikash which was also very good. If I find a cookbook that has more than 10 recipes that I think I might try, I'll buy it. I just purchased the book on Amazon and can't wait for it to be delivered to my house. Great cookbook!

Good Variety for Slow Cookers Jan. 8 2013
By Frances Marena - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
I like this cookbook for slow cookers because it has interesting dinners for slow cookers that are not all swimming in liquid. Before this book, I didn't know spareribs could be cooked in a slow cooker with a spice rub without liquid.

Can't wait to try more recipes.

The first perfect Kindle cookbook. Oct. 4 2013
By Margaret H - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
I have the Kindle edition and, unlike the majority of cookbooks, it is perfectly formatted for Kindle. I should say it's perfect for Kindle Fire, because it is a large file and the full-page color pictures can be appreciated only on the Fire. Those pictures are wonderful too, one for almost every recipe, another rarity for Kindle cookbooks. For ease of reading and to save space, I want to replace my favorite print cookbooks with Kindle editions.

Other than this cookbook, that's a nearly impossible task because so many publishers don't seem to realize, or care, that a cookbook is useless without a well-organized table of contents that allows the reader to navigate to each individual recipe. An index is almost as necessary as the TOC, but is usually missing from Kindle cookbooks. Also, I don't understand why so many cookbook publishers think anyone would be willing to guess which ingredient goes with each measurement because they can't be bothered to format them so that measurements and ingredients line up properly on the same line. No problems at all with this Kindle edition.

Did I mention that the Kindle edition of this book is perfectly formatted? It meets every expectation I have for a cookbook, including a good variety of excellent recipes. Those big beautiful pictures are a bonus treat.
