5.0 out of 5 stars Classy lady!, Sep 13 2008

Ce commentaire est de: Souvenir: Margaret Truman's Own Story (Paperback)
I'm ten years younger than Margaret, but was well aware of her when her dad was President "Give 'em Hell" Harry Truman. After recently falling in love with her Capitol Mystery books, I wanted to know more about this talented lady.
SOUVENIR, her early life story, has been everything I hoped for. Being a musician myself, I was very interested in her experiences in the concert world. We had ALL heard about how her father was so loyal to her as a singer, so this was great to hear it from her vantage point. One joke we heard at the end of World War II when Truman fired MacArthur...the reason given was "he criticized Margaret's singing!" Anyone who would like to recount the war years, will enjoy Margaret's impressions of the various heroes, such as Winston Churchill etc. She writes in such a down-to-earth and interesting style...how I wish she had written her memoirs from her later years! So interesting to be privy to such experiences at a pivotal time in world history.

Ce commentaire est de: Souvenir, Margaret Truman's Own Story; by Margaret Truman, with Margaret Cousins (Hardcover)
This is an obscure book that I stumbled across that tells about Margaret's early life and times. What it was like being first daughter and trying to establish her singing career. I would suggest it to any fan.
