IDW is a terrific publisher and Sparrow is their line of introductory art books.
A series of small HC books, each presenting one illustrator.
The 48 pages are a great introduction to each artist.
Whereas Ashley Wood's and Phil Hale's work scream for larger pages, Shane Glines' also presents itself very nicely in this format.
Shane obviously loves cartoons and babes and he loves them sexy. Slightly retro, sometimes reminding me of Hanna-Barbera but nevertheless completely his own style. He worked as a designer for Batman the Animated Series and Samurai Jack and it shows. I definitely would want to see more of Shane's work very soon. Strong colors, curvy lines, wonderful: Buy it!

I'm very happy with my mini Sparrow book. Shane Glines is a very talented illustrator! I bought this book purely by the cover alone (though I got the orange one, but that's fine). I was a little disappointed that there is not even one page or paragraph written about Shane Glines, the artist. By the other reviewer's comments, I knew the artist had sexy pictures... no kidding... some are nude... a lot of seductive vamps! Nevertheless, beautiful 4-color reproductions on every page! There is no accompanying text.
