Written by a Special ed teacher. Concise and to the point and more references, should you need it, in the back.

Should be in every school and principal's office.

This was easy to read and understand. Great to share with teachers and people that work with or live with an individual with FASD. I highly reccomend this book! Plan on buying a copy for the Library.

5.0 out of 5 stars Buy one for every teacher your child works with, May 5 2012

This review is from: Speaking And Learning the Fasd Way (Paperback)
I have read volumes on FASD written by researchers, parents, advocates and adults with FASD. This little book captures the essence of learning challenges faced by people with FASD better than any book I've ever read. There are tips and strategies for any number of things, from social communication to memory deficits.
The book wanders from time to time, but generally is concise and should be on the desk of every teacher who works with FASD children. It should be required reading for special educators and principals. If you are a parent of an FASD kid who struggles in school, and you struggle with getting the kind of help your child needs in school, it should be in your "tool kit" as it offers strategies useful in building IEP goals, classroom accomodations, etc.
I plan on buying several more and highlighting the specifics relevant to my child, then giving the books to my child's teachers at his new school next year along with a $20 dollar bill if they promise to read it!
