If you want greater depth in stamp collecting, specialty catalogs are a must. The Scott Specialized Catalog for the USA has opened a new world for the study of variations of stamps, including cut squares, revenues and other varieties not covered by the standard catalogs. The catalog is well-organized and well indexed. It exceeded my expectations for what a specialty catalog should be.

indispensable catalog for stamp collecting June 9 2012
By Jeffrey Bregg - Published on Amazon.com

This is a very good book for US stamp collectors. It has excellent photos and discriptions. Its a book that every collector should have on their shelf. The pricing is general and good only as a guide. If you sell your collection you won't get the catalog price unless you sell to another collector. Most collectors go by the Scott catalog numbers which makes the book even more indispensable.

Only the best catalog out there for US collectors! June 22 2014

Got this to save money --- 3 years old --- but still got all the wonderful, comprehensive information that only this icon of the catalog world can provide. There is simply no other book equal to this one for the serious US collector. Excellent for UN and all the back-of-the-book issues. My highest recommendation!
SPECIALISING IN USA FLYSPECKING? YOU GOT IT! July 11 2013

Indeed, if a USA stamp collector wants to broaden his horizons, well then this is the catalogue to own!
Its various features and write-ups (particularly in the revenue section), are well-written and well thought out. The additional added section of the Confederate States Of America forerunners is of great interest as well.
Scott Specialized Catalogue of United States Stamps and Covers 2011 Feb. 10 2013

This catalogue is in like new condition and at a price that made a lot more sense than a brand new one. Prices on the stamps have not changed that much in the past couple of years. It's a great catalogue and have found it very useful.
Saves Time Oct. 23 2013

I use this catalog almost every day. It is in excellent condition. It saves a lot of wasted time going to and from the public library to consult their reference section.
