Both my son and I really like this case, it is small and adds only minimal bulk to the phone. However I would not use it for my daughter who requires full armour protection for her phone.

Counterfeit Speck Cases being Sold By Amazon Sellers

Hello fellow Amazon shoppers, I've made a video review addressing a problem with Speck Counterfeit cases being sold here on Amazon by some sellers which shows the differences between a real "legit" case and the knock off "counterfeit ones".
This video review is not to give Speck a negative 1 star rating but rather the selling of counterfeits that has seemed to plague Amazon.
I hope this review helps others before they make their purchases.

The best case for the iPhone that I've found

This case is my favorite. This is the revised version that has a larger opening for the camera so that the flash doesn't bounce off the edge of the case and spoil the picture.
This is a one piece case, the silicone and hard shell are molded together. To protect your iPhone, Just press it into the case. It fits snugly and feels secure and solid. The silence switch is a little harder to reach. (For me that's a good thing.) And all the other switches feel pretty much the same. Not nearly as rubbery as you'd think. The front glass is protected by a raised rubber ridge all the way around. The connector opening is nice and large. There is no silly cut out to display the Apple logo on the back of the phone. I think that's a plus, but that's just my opinion.
This case strikes a balance that I like between protection and usability. There are more impenetrable cases out there that have the silicon layer on the outside, gripping your pocket fabric every time you reach for your phone, and rubber plugs you must hold out of the way whenever you plug in the dock connector or headphones. This case makes me feel like it probably won't be a disaster if I fumble and drop my iPhone on the sidewalk, and that's what I was looking for.
One quibble. The case itself scratches fairly easily. You'll need to carry it in another pocket than the one your keys are in.
Update: The case broke. The very thin part of the case above the connector opening is also where you tend to grab the case when picking the phone from your pocket. The shell layer snapped on one end of that very thin cross member, but the silicone is holding it in place. I still like this case, but be aware this is a vulnerable spot, and don't put pressure on it.
Update to the update: I bought another Speck iPhone 4S case. This case came with instructions for removing the phone, asking users to pry the top out first so the rest of the phone can "angle out easily." I guess I'm not the only one to break that very thin piece at the bottom! I would add that you should avoid grabbing that very thin part of the case when plucking the phone from your pocket.
BTW, the new Speck Satin cases are extremely attractive in my opinion. The black case with grey silicone is very handsome indeed! Much more sophisticated looking than the candy shell.

Buy a GENUINE Speck case from your local AT&T or Verizon Store!

I purchased this Speck case from Amazon because it was cheaper. The retail price on this is $35, and I found it on Amazon for $10.64, so I went with Amazon because I hadn't had issues before.
BUYERS BEWARE! DO NOT PURCHASE FROM SELLER "360BUYCS" and see the image I uploaded. This case arrived from China and the paint on the back of the case where the Speck Logo is, was sloppily painted/applied. The volume and sleep button were difficult to press. Also see Navarro's review [...] because he had the same issue with the buttons being difficult to press.
I went to the AT&T store to purchase the same exact case to compare, and the AT&T GENUINE case does not have difficult buttons to press--everything fits as it should. Now, you may say, "Maybe you're having difficulty with buttons because there is a difference between AT&T versus Verizon phones." That's not true. This seller sold me a non-genuine product.
The genuine case is nice and I rate that a 4 stars.
