I just got an iPhone in October and since then have tried about 6 cases. All of them start out lovely and slick-looking, but just a couple weeks will often reveal the true quality of the case. So far nothing has passed the test, until now.
Don't get me wrong, the case is not perfect; the rubberized area does pick up color from clothing a little, and that can be annoying. But in comparison to the other cases I have had, it's pretty minimal.
The buttons on the top and sides lined up perfectly, including the open space for the toggle switch. The bottom flips open easily without putting stress on the phone, but when it's closed it feels secure and snug, not like it would ever flip open on it's own. The color is true to the photo, unlike the other "raspberry" candyshell (non-flip) by Speck that I bought (I would definitely avoid that one). The camera opening does not interfere with picture quality, and I have dropped my phone a couple times without the case cracking or the phone being damaged at all. Plus, being able to use a charging dock or a speaker without taking the case off is so convenient!
The only thing I would caution people about is that even with the flip bottom, it might still not work with your charging dock or speaker. The flipped-up area is about 1 1/2 inches long, so if your docking area has a back to it that the phone would lean against that measures higher than that, the flip bottom will still get in the way and the phone probably won't fit. All of my charge docks are open on all sides, so that's not a problem for me, but thought I should mention it.
EDITED TO ADD: It's been over a year, and although the case I first got has broken, I have repurchased it because it held up so much better than all the others. The photos showing the broken sliver of plastic that covers the charging port opening are accurate: in every case, that has been the part that broke for me too. However, I have to tell a short story: I dropped my phone while on a haunted hayride and it was run over by a tractor on a gravel road. While the phone was water-damaged, and the case had some deep dents from the gravel pressing into it, the phone was totally unmarked. I mean, seriously flawless as if nothing had ever happened. Soooo.....yeah. This case can take a beating. I would still recommend it, and am buying another one for my shiny new phone.
