4.0 out of 5 stars Different than 1st generation Dec 23 2012

Had an original pair and used them till they were scratched and foggy. The new ones are great for non-fog but are slightly narrower in the nose and a bit firmer plastic seal. Will probably loosen up after wearing for awhile, new strap is easy to use.

1.0 out of 5 stars poor design Oct 24 2011

The strap loosens off when swimming, poorly designed strap clasps. Not a good choice for competitive swimmers. Comfortable fit is the only positive.

3.0 out of 5 stars Hydrospex great goggle, but go with the original...not 2 Mar 30 2010

My daughter is on a swim team and uses her goggles 3-4 times a week. She has been using the Speedo Junior Hydrospex goggles for a while now. When we went to get her a new pair, we thought we would try the Hydrospex2 because they would be easier to adjust. Even though they are easier to adjust, they keep popping out at the adjustment button. They are easy to put back together, but it happens too often to be convenient. Every time she wears them, I have to put them back together again. Then they come apart at the adjustment button again during an hour swimming. So, in summary, the Hydrospex is a great goggle, but stick with the original that lasted us for years with no problems.

2.0 out of 5 stars If it isn't broken, don't fix it. April 24 2011
By Elrond - Published on Amazon.com
I have been swimming competitively for 5 years, and have been using the original hydrospex goggles for that entire period. Those goggles served me perfectly, and I never had any complaint about the fit, comfort, or functionality.

The Hydrospex 2 goggles are a big step down. they leak water after every fourth or fifth flipturn. I feel that the adjustment system is unnecessarily complicated. Also, the rubber that the strap is made of has become very 'grippy' - it sticks to the hair or cap, and is not smooth-feeling, like the older model.

In all, stick with the tried and trusted original.

Great product. My kid has been using Speedo goggles for years. We are constantly losing them on vacations, in pools, etc. It's nice to know I can go to Amazon to get the exact same item and have it before the next swim lesson.
