Classic Spidey RULES!!!!, April 28 2004
This review is from: Spider-Man - The '67 Collection (DVD)
I remember watching this as a kid and absolutley loving it to death. I havent seen it in YEARS, and I am hoping I will still love it as an adult.
Here is the official episode listing that I have recieved...
Finally today, we've had a few questions about where we are getting the episode count of "52" from, because people are counting more than 70 "story titles" in the series. 52 is the official count from Buena Vista, and it's the official count of half-hour episodes that were aired. Many of the episodes include two different stories. Here is the list of half-hour episodes. Ones that contains multiple stories show both titles, separated by a "/":
"The Power of Doctor Octopus / Sub-Zero For Spidey",
"Where Crawls the Lizard / Electro the Human Lightning Bolt",
"The Menace of Mysterio",
"The Sky is Falling / Captured By J. Jonah Jameson", "Never Step On a Scorpion / Sands of Crime",
"Diet of Destruction / The Witching Hour",
"Kilowatt Kaper / The Peril of Parafino",
"Horn of the Rhino",
"The One-Eyed Idol / Fifth Avenue Phantom",
"The Revenge of Dr. Magneto / The Sinister Prime Minister",

The movie owes this series. Bigtime!, April 7 2004
This review is from: Spider-Man - The '67 Collection (DVD)
No way the excellent Spider-man movie is such a huge hit without this series. No way. How many kids watched this over and over again for years. Especially in Canada where it played for years and years. I hope this is from the original film and has been cleaned up. In some ways I never really saw this show in its original glory only faded prints.
And the soundtrack! Don't get me started on that!
My favourite is the second season with the whacked out deco and jazz score.
One question. When is Rocket Robin Hood coming out?

HERE COMES THE SPIDER-MAN !, May 29 2006
This review is from: Spider-Man - The '67 Collection (DVD)
This boxed set is well done and the six single sided discs are a welcomed bonus for fans of the show. The DVD disc packaging and artwork in my opinion is well done and they make this set great to own. Hey it's "Spider-Man" in all his web-slinging glory, containing all 52 episodes restored and presented in glorious crime fighting color; what more could you want?
If you're a fan of the masked web-slinger than you definitely can't go wrong with the "Spider-Man 67" collection. The quality of both picture and sound are amazing to say the least. I used to run home every day from school to watch this show and I don't ever remember seeing the colors or images being as sharp and vibrant as they are on the DVD's.
As a huge "Spider-Man" fan I give the "Spider-Man 67" collection five stars for being an outstanding DVD set, but only four stars because it lacks bonus material and that's a major disappointment. Surely the great Stan Lee could have provided the Studio with some type of extra material from his archives to be included in this release. Some fans will find the six DVD set a little pricey if they can even find it. Time to go my spider sense is tingling!
