This yarn is a nightmare to crochet with. In order to pull the yarn through the loops, you need to leave everything very loose, which creates an unprofessional look as it's not fuzzy enough to fill in the gaps between stitches. It is crinkly and warped enough, however, to make it very hard to see your stitches...and since the little nubs catch on EVERYTHING, if you make a mistake you may not even be able to pull out the stitches to correct your work.
The recommended crochet hook according to the label is size H. If you actually try to use a size H hook, you'll go mad. I ended up working a few rows with a K hook, which was doable, if not relaxing.
(I'm not a knitter so I can't say with any confidence that it would be similarly horrible for knitting projects, but I wouldn't hold my breath.)
I find it hilarious that the label calls this "soft" boucle. It's not soft. It's not even particularly soft in the skein, but once it's worked up, it's got an almost crunchy texture. Maybe washing improves that, but I'll never know since I'm writing this yarn off as a bad mistake.
