Are you ready kids?!, Nov 12 2004

This soundtrack is SO much fun! Oh, I can't wait for the movie on November 19. Let's start with the first track, 'SpongeBob SquarePants Theme' by Avril Lavigne. It's actually pretty good. Has a modern touch to the Hawaiian-sounding TV theme.
Track No. 2, 'SpongeBob and Patrick Confront the Psychic Wall of Energy'. This is a great song. Very laid back. Makes you kinda wanna sway to the music (hehehe... like seaweed in the ocean). And I love the title. The Flaming Lips are pretty good.
Track No. 3, 'Just a Kid', by Wilco. Great guitar intro. It fits right in with the rest of the songs.
Track No. 4, 'The Goofy Goober Song'. OH MY GOD! This song is so infectious. And very simple to learn. "I'm a Goofy Goober Yeah You're a Goofy Goober Yeah We're all Goofy Goober's Yeah Goofy Goofy Goober Goober Yeah!" This has become my favorite track on the entire CD.
Track No. 5, 'Prince Paul's Bubble Party', by Prince Paul, The Waikikis, & Wordsworth. A great little rap song which is just an overview of the episode "Bubblestand", with actual sound clips. Great fun!
Track No. 6, 'Bikini Bottom' by Electrocute. Great song with a great sound. Amazingly fun to dance and sing to.
Track No.'s 7-14, 'The Best Day Ever', 'They'll Soon Discover', 'Ocean Man', 'Under My Rock', 'Now That We're Men', 'Goofy Goober Rock', 'You Better Swim', and 'The Jellyfish Song by the Jellyfish Band'. There were too many tracks to review individually, so I lumped 7-14 into one review. These songs sound great and are really fun to dance to.
Track No. 15, 'SpongeBob SquarePants Theme(Movie Version)'. LOL! This is great. It's sung by The Pirates and sounds orchestral, which it is, since the music is performed by an orchestra. But, it's funny.
I reccommend this album to everyone. I hesitated buying this this past Wednesday, but today, I was out again and couldn't resist! So I bought the CD and am still listening to it. Enjoy!!

Fun for Goofy Goobers of all ages!, Sep 26 2005

I am a closet SpongeBob fan (and probably not the only one), due to my kids TV and movie watching habits. I've seen the movie 3 times, heard the soundtrack once and decided I had to have it (for the kids of course). My favorite cut is SB himself singing "Best Day Ever." This is without a doubt the cutest, happiest, and most Beach Boys-esque song ever recorded (hats off the the brilliant production team who obviously spent many hours listening to Pet Sounds). Many of the other cuts are quite good, including the Wilco and Electrocute songs. A couple of exceptions: Patrick the Starfish cannot sing a note, and I defy anyone over 30 to listen to this for longer than 1 minute. The Motorhead song also, well, sucks (fortunately I can hit FF faster than my kids noticed I skipped 'em). If you want a fun, upbeat, catchy CD to listen to with your kids in the car this is it.
