HASH(0xa47a8708) out of 5 stars Stayed lit after submersion underwater for 12 hours April 6 2011
By Twylie - Published on Amazon.com
Color: Orange
As mentioned in another review, you have to buy a "belt-style" collar in order to be able to use this light. (It can't fit over the traditional "clip" collars.)
My dog's collar came off him one night when he was swimming in a creek after a river otter. The next morning, I went down with a rake to try to retrieve the collar and light from the bottom of the shallow creek. When I retrieved the collar, the light was still on!

This truly is waterproof and shatterproof, and it could withstand 12 hours underwater and remain ON!

I am very impressed with this light. Visibility from afar is great as well. The light is very bright. I would recommend it.

HASH(0xa47aa8b8) out of 5 stars I've been looking for something like this for a long time! Jan. 13 2012

This is a great, great, great light. It is bright, and casts light in a pretty wide arc, so it is visible from most directions. The flashing mode strikes a good balance between visibility and battery life, which is nice because CR2032 batteries are relatively expensive and this takes two of them. I've previously used Nite Ize SpotLit (great visibility, horrible battery life, died quickly), PupLight (good visibility, good battery life and ran on AAs, but my dog managed to lose it in the woods somehow*), and Cateye LD150 Taillight (horrible visibility (it is unidirectional because it is a bike light), good battery life and ran on AAs; I was getting desperate).

As others have said, this needs to slip on over the collar strap. Which is kind of annoying if you don't normally use a "belt" style collar. What I did was buy a Rogz Reflective Harness and then use some nylon webbing and rivets to attach the light. It was quick and easy.

3 month update: Over the course of a month, I bought five of these (three dogs), and they are all still working great. Haven't had to change the batteries yet, despite pretty heavy use. My one dog has taken his swimming a few times, with no apparent problems. Still super happy with these.

HASH(0xa47ae030) out of 5 stars THIS LIGHT SUX!!! April 24 2015
By KGriff - Published on Amazon.com
Color: Blue
The light itself is fine but trying to turn the light on or off... SUX BIG TIME!!! It requires a stylus to push the button. You CANNOT push it with you finger. And then the instructions says something like to turn it on push and hold the button for 5 seconds. 5 seconds IF YOU ARE LUCKY! And try doing that with the collar ON THE DOG. Yeah, good luck with that. Now what is even worse is that even though the instructions state that it takes like maybe 10 seconds to turn the light off, it literally can take 20-30 seconds to turn the light off! ARE YOU FREAKIN' KIDDING ME?!?!? Yeah and you can forget about doing that with the collar on the dog. THERE IS JUST NO FREAKIN' WAY TO TURN THE LIGHT OFF WITH THE COLLAR ON THE DOG! So while you are using the stylus to try to turn the light off the light will go from constantly on to blinking to constantly on to off... take the stylus off the button... no wait... the light is blinking again... it didn't turn off... it cycled back to blinking... ARE YOU FREAKIN' KIDDING ME?!?!? So start the 20-30 second process of trying to turn this stupid light off AGAIN! I HATE THIS LIGHT! I have thrown it down more than once in frustration trying to turn it off. And I bought a shock collar from this same company. Just like this light, the shock collar is water proof. And it is not anywhere near this hard to turn the shock collar on / off. I like the shock collar. I would like to like this light as well. But the difficulty in turning the freakin' light on and especially off will not allow me to like this stupid light. If you waste you money on this light... have fun with it... as you have been warned.

HASH(0xa47ae558) out of 5 stars would be great if it fit on a collar Aug. 5 2010

this thing is bright and awesome, but won't fit on a collar with clips (like Planet Dog Cozy Hemp Adjustable Collar, Apple Green, Medium). You have to have a collar that is more like a belt, which will slide through the loops. If you have that you're set; if you don't, you'll have to cut the plastic and eventually lose it like me. Very bummed, because it's expensive.

HASH(0xa47ae570) out of 5 stars Everything they say, BUT April 6 2012
By Jay F Carson Jr - Published on Amazon.com

It's everything they say, I'm hard to please. But, like other reviews they won't.go on anything but a standard buckle collar; and my Giant Schnauzer Pup learned to take those off the second day he had one on. I use a.chain coller so I attached them using key rings. It,s not the best but it works. Otherwise they are bright, durable, water proof in rain, bath and pond, on flash the batteries last 3 weeks on for 12 hours a day. He is black so we leave them on all night so we can see him at night. If you can get by the attachment issues I recommend them. I've had them 7 months and because of his size i might order two more.
