Taking place two years after Yuna's fateful journey to defeat Sin the once chaotic world of Spira hasgone through a massive transformation entering a period of "Eternal Calm". The people of Spira now shun the teachings of Yevon and have opened their arms to former foes the Al Bhed and the use of machina. The Machine Faction aims to propagate the use of machina in Spira going as far as renaming "machina" to "machines" to remove the stigma. However even with the peaceful life they now live there is an emptiness in Yuna's heart that is keeping her from moving on as the others have.One day Yuna obtains a mystical sphere that contains imagery of what might be the Blitzball player shethought was gone forever. Although Yuna isn't certain that it is him or if he is even alive she's driven toseek him out. Yuna needs closure to their unexpected parting even if only to find that she will never seehim again. So begins her journey...

This game gets a ton of hate, why? Probably the lighthearted nature of the story, I think the female leads also play a part in that. This game, is by no means bad. It's a good game. It really is. The story is great, because it wraps up what happens with Yuna and Tidus at the end of Final Fantasy X. As well as giving us more time to see the characters in FFX and what they're up to.The gameplay is THE BEST, in the series. This is the games strong point, the gameplay itself. And isn't that what games are about? Obviously not. Hence all the hate for this game. The garment system is great. It's basically the job system revived and perfected. Give the game a chance. It gets hated on for all the wrong reasons.

FFX was one of my favorite RPGs. The story in it was deep but not so deep that you couldn't just have fun and relax. It ended on the perfect note for me, with a tragic yet heroic ending. So, if you loved the ending and thought that it was complete, my advice would be don't get this game. And if your anti-pop culture you might want to stay away from it as well.

I know that for a fact if it is anything like FFX then it will be one of the best games ever. I loved FFX and I was addicted forever. I have seen pictures of the new characters and have heard about the system that they are bringing back, and it sounds killer! This game (FFX-2) will be revolutionizing for the Final Fantasy games and PS2. I can not wait! :)The new system I have read has a choose your own job kinda thing, just like FFV. (ie. You can have Auron be the white mage, instead of being the in your face get out of my way guy.) And personally I don't like Yuna being a weak little girl, that is Rikku's job!
