Very Disappointing,
By
This review is from: St Peter (DVD)
My hats off to Omar Sharif for participating in this film and risking his life to do so. I'm interested to know what his motivation for doing it was. As for the movie itself, I was extremely disappointed with this film, so much so I couldn't watch more than 30min of it and I turned it off. I watched it with a friend and she too said it wasn't great. We found too much of the content was inaccurate. I figure with the script already written in the bible, why not make the movie based on facts we know to be true? At the point of Jesus' death, where does it point to the fact Peter was an elderly man? With the exception of Omar Sharif, the acting was not believable...what I would call a 'B' movie at best. The actor for Jesus was a big disappointment - not believable by any stretch of the imagination. I love biblical films, but this one rates "not great" in my books...I regret spending the money to buy it.

OMAR SHARIF IS OUTSTANDING IN THIS FILM. HE RISKED HIS LIFE MAKING THIS FILM. THE ISLAMIC LEADERS CALLED FOR A JIHAD AGAINST HIM. THEY SAID IT WAS THE DUTY OF MUSLIMS TO KILL HIM FOR ACTING IN THIS FILM. OMAR IS A MUSLIM HIMSELF. CAN YOU BELEIVE THE MUSLIM LEADERS WHAT HIM DEAD! JUST FOR ACTING IN A CHRISTIAN FILM. THE MOVIE IS 197 MINUTES LONG. GREAT SOUND AND PICTURE QUALITY. SOME PARTS ARE NOT SCRIPURAL. OVERALL A GREAT FILM.

A Beautiful Movie Depicting Peter, Paul, the Apostles and Jesus Christ Relationship to Them,
By Jacqueline - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: St Peter (DVD)
Excellent Movie, this movie taught me so much about the Apostles Peter, Paul and how they came to KNOW that Jesus Christ was son of God and the relationship Christ had with them. I cried, Omar Sharif was a perfect Peter, as his eyes express so much of the feelings that were experienced when he denied Christ (3) times and also told him he loved him (3) times. The pace of the movie is excellent, the acting superb, and most of all the historical representation (especially the Romans and the Christians),in this cinematic film captures the essence of Christ, and how those closest to him came to KNOW he was son of God and how the Holy Spirit touched those Christians after his resurecction. I would highly recommend this film!

St. Peter,
By Gary L. Williams "Gary Williams" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: St Peter (DVD)
I have seen many movies about the Apostle Paul. This movie is the most accurate about Peter that I've ever seen. As my wife ans I watched it, we both said that this movie truly follows the New Testament about Peter's life. I reccomend this movie wholeheartedly. It would be a great movie for church congregations to watch together. Gary

beautiful story,
By Lizzeedee "Skin Care Store Owner" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: St Peter (DVD)
This is my favorite biblical movie! Omar Sharif was perfect with the cast. I first saw it in Italian in Rai TV and was the first to get it on DVD with Portugese subtitles. This is my second purchase as I loaned my lst one to a priest who shares it with the children of his school and I just couldn't ask for it back. One of my favorite many scenes is Paul's conversion on the road to Damascus and of course Peter crying in Jesus' arms for denying him three times. There are so many but I'll just say get it share it and enjoy!
