But Zannah is not the only one with the desire and power to destroy Darth Bane. Princess Serra of the Doan royal family is haunted by memories of the monstrous Sith soldier who murdered her father and tortured her when she was a child. Bent on retribution, she hires a merciless assassin to find her tormentor–and bring him back alive to taste her wrath.
Only a Sith who has taken down her own Master can become Dark Lord of the Sith. So when Bane suddenly vanishes, Zannah must find him–possibly even rescue him–before she can kill him. And so she pursues her quarry from the grim depths of a ravaged world on the brink of catastrophe to the barren reaches of a desert outpost, where the future of the dark side’s most powerful disciples will be decided, once and for all, by the final, fatal stroke of a lightsaber.

Drew Karpyshyn is the New York Times bestselling author of Star Wars: Darth Bane: Rule of Two, Star Wars: Darth Bane: Path of Destruction, and the Mass Effect novels Revelation and Ascension, as well as several other fantasy and science fiction novels. He is also an award-winning writer/designer for the computer game company BioWare, where he was lead writer on Mass Effect and the blockbuster Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic video game. He lives in Canada’s hinterlands with his wife, Jen, and their cat.

Bane, You've Done it Again!,

I thought it was fun. Two dimensional fun. One and a half dimensions maybe. Meaningless, empty one and a half dimensional fun. It was bad guy vs much taller meaner bad guy. What was the point? I have no idea. Good doesn't win over evil. Good doesn't even make an entrance. The lack of true and good characters was probably a weakness. It didn't exactly deepen the book. But who cares? It kept me reading. Drew Karpyshyn must've gotten something right. He really does know how to construct these stories. His prose are the least impressive out the Del Rey stable but he keeps the story really driving. And he gave me an ending I didn't expect. I'd say something like Darth Maul: Shadow Hunter is miles above DoE. Similar themes. Sith madman with an ending that can't be "happy" no matter how hard you hope.Overall, this is the best of the Bane books. If you liked the other two, you'll love this one.

Excellent end to the Bane Trilogy,

Once again Karpyshyn delivers with the finale of the Bane Trilogy. This book (like the first 2) had me hooked beginning to end.Excellent character development throughout and a twist at the end I didn't see coming. Anyone who's head the first 2 books in the trilogy will not be letdown as they venture into the 3rd title. People can guess what ultimately happens with Bane's fate at the end of the trilogy seeing as "only the strongest Sith will survive". All I'll say is that I hope Karpyshyn continues the Sith story as I really want to see more of the new "Dark Lord"

A great read to end a fantastic trilogy, the ending was quite fitting and sets up what I hope will be another fantastic installment!
