Patience, my padawan...,
This review is from: Star Wars: Outbound Flight (Mass Market Paperback)
The first half of the book was terribly long and I almost quitted. Before you know it, the story becomes so intriguing and caracters get entangled with others and you get really into it.One of the best and dramatic conclusions i've read. Lucas could make a movie out of this one and call it: Episode 1 and a half!!!

One of my favorite pre-rebellion novels. The characters are interesting and well developed for an action adventure novel. I love that it satisifies references to Outbound Flight in later novels and does so quite well. This novels satisfies all the points of interest for Star Wars readers. Has timeline context with respect to the whole Star Wars Saga. Has familiar characters as well as exciting new ones and plot twists and turns that keep you engaged. One strong aspect of this novel is that you become involved with the characters which isn't always the case with Star Wars. A well written book you will enjoy. Have a look at my other reviews for more Star Wars novel hits and misses.

Exceeded my expectations which were already high, the one problem with the other thrawn books were that they followed to many plot points and didnt focus enough on the more interesting ones. But here you have the Thrawn and smuggler storyline, Jorus C'baoth and other Jedi such as Anakin and Obi wan who actually fit nicely as a counter balance to Jorus even if there departure feels forced. The Sidious and his minions task force rounds out the cast. Thrawn is more of a good guy in this though the short story at the end reveals that by that time he is more of the guy we read about in Heir to the Empire. In all i enjoyed it and would very much like to read a book following Thrawns rise through the empires ranks by Zahn.
