I don't think I have seen a good "surreal" movie since I discovered Louis Bunuel fifty years ago. But now we have STAY. Not popular taste maybe, but if you want to take a real trip without popping anything, you will love the way this movie (and the background music) plays with your mind. So maybe it doesn't make sense most of the time - but then neither does reality, right?

I was pleasantly surprised by this. I don't think I'd pay $38 for it, but it's the best film I've seen this year so far. I am a big fan of films heavy in symbolism that I can watch over and over in order to piece together. Marc Forster crafted an amazingly stylised piece with Stay. Worth checking out if you like the cerebral or spiritual.
