Product Description

Amazon.ca Product Description

Since the release of our first mouse, we have been using Japanese-inspiration in our naming of them. Our mice are built for performance and tournament-style play; Ikari means anger, Xai means talent, and the list of product names goes on. The Sensei is our version of the grand-master in our Do Jo. It is the teacher. The Sensei [RAW] is that master in his pure and focused form. With tournament grade components and focused intent, the Sensei [RAW] is the essence of performance delivering only what you need to eliminate your challengers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fits perfectly in your hand Oct 21 2012

If you use a computer 12 hours a day like i do, you want your tools of your trade to be perfect. I purchased this mouse as a replacement for my xai.

PROS: My biggest complaint about other mice is how they feel in your hand. A mouse should perfectly fill the void of a cupped palm but no more than that. Most high-end mice like the G500 and the razers are all too bulky. I prefer the contours of this mouse over the Xai.

Also, a mouse should be light and slide effortlessly across your computer surface. After wearing a hole in my desk i started using mouse pads. I went from a neoprene mouse pad, to an aluminum and now i have a plastic steel series pad. The stock mice feet work really well, however if you're hard core about if you can also buy 3rd replacement party teflon (PTFE) feet. I just put some of these on my backup Xai.

Additionally, by setting the polling rate to 125hz (a little known peculiarity) this mouse becomes MacOSX compatible.

The cloth cord also maintains a shape/memory so you can position it so that it never obstructs movement. IMO, there is just the right amount of buttons.

I play alot of Dota clones and I kill mice pretty quickly. I destroyed the right mouse button on my 1st Xai in like 8 months but the warrantee covered it. Steel series support is excellent.

CONS: As another review mentioned, this mouse has a cheap scroll wheel which is a legitimate complaint. The wheel has less granularity than my Xai (more rotational intervals). Also, what's up with the glowy light? Trying to irradiate my palm? Some Unze Unze Unze for the night club in my house?

SETTINGS: I disable pretty much all the smoothing and acceleration, use 850/1200 dpi. i prefer things a little on the slow side for top scrollers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Finger tip Mouse griper = Perfect for me Feb 14 2013

I bought this mouse, because my old mouse was the Microsoft 1.1 mouse. I wanted something similar to the feel.

So i researched and researched and researched.

Finally, I came across this bad boy.

The raw version was a lot better for me, because the price was more in my range.

Plus, the rubberized texture didn't stick to my fingers or cause a caked on grime effect, like smoother, shinier mice tend to do.

The program it uses is fluent and easy to use. It's pretty much better than any UI I've used, because its very responsive and the changed are instant instead of loaded.

5.0 out of 5 stars Requiring titles is retarded. May 8 2013

Claw grip, right-handed gamer here. I'll start off by saying that I have owned MANY gaming mice over the years, starting with the old Razer copperhead and eventually this Steelseries Sensei [raw]. I am no stranger to gaming mice. I have either owned or tried nearly every mouse that's currently out on the market right now.

That being said, this mouse is probably the best that I have ever used. The aesthetics of the mouse are extremely similar to the microsoft intellimouse of olde. So if you grew up using one of those mice, this one will feel pretty much the exact same in your hand.

The tracking on this mouse is excellent, I have never had any issues whatsoever on any of my mouse pads (Razer Manticor, Steelseries 9HD, Mionix Propus 380, Razer Goliathus, and a couple others). This mouse performs excellently on any surface that I have put it on.

One big plus about this mouse is that, technically, you don't even really need to install any drivers or the steelseries engine software. The mouse will work perfectly if you simply plug-&-play.

The only thing that I would've improved, is that I would've liked to have been able to shut off the lighting in the steelseries logo found on the palm of the mouse. I would rather just have the mousewheel lit up.

Easily a 5-star product. If I ever break my mouse in a rage, I'll certainly buy another of these immediately.
