Stereo Box Set (14 Albums, 16 LP - 180 gram Vinyl Edition) [Box set, Original recording remastered]

Well, my experience with amazon ca, wasn't good, because the packaging was very disappointing, then i return the product because the box arrived without any protection, was beaten and broken. (thanks for the full refund, excellent service of amazon) The sound was not as disappointing as the box I ordered from Amazon U.S., however, I can not say it was excellent. The white album and abbey road had a lot of noise compared to the album Please Please Me. The sound of Sgt. Peppers was almost perfect, which lets us know that the transfer of the 24-bit remasters is extraordinary. The big and, believe me, the big big problem is the Quality control of the acetates, in my opinion is very bad, I really hope that emi find a solution to the problem. It is urgent that amazon becomes the spokesman of our complaints, hoping soon the fans have a second batch with the quality it deserves the Beatles music. Emi please read our comments.

Updated 27/02/13: I buy the box of the european union with great excitement, unfortunately three discs were faulty, help, beatles for sale and sgt peppers, however, the most serious is that at the end of each side, the songs begin to lose loyalty, dirty, flat, with serious acute problems, it can be noticed in the hi-hat stand and cymbals of the drums; One example, is the past Masters, heard some songs with good quality, as is the case of Long Tall Sally, but eventually , im down, and yes it is and bad boy, heard quite noisy. I truly hope this is not an error in transferring digital files to vinyl, because then it will be very difficult to have a set with high fidelity. I just ordered my replacement, I hope it is just a defective set more, this set manufactured in the European Union, has, sadly, pressing and transfer problems.

I'm not sure what has been happening to peoples Beatles Vinyl Sets. Seemingly random complaints about the quality of the pressings etc...

Obviously that's horrible, and I'm glad they are able to get a replacement or their money back. I just figured I should add:

I got the box set on the first day it came out. Zero problems. None.

I have a decent Audiophile system and actually work in the technical side of the music industry (with over 25 years technical experience dealing with both analog and digital forms). All my records are straight as an arrow. Flat as a crepe. No dropouts or filler. No fingerprints. No strange markings. Nothing. The Audio sounds great. At least as great, if not better with the new mastering, as my original 70's and 80's pressings when I A/B them against each other (and I take care of my vinyl). Because of that, and the inclusion of all the original artwork and a very nice book, I'd have to give this 5 stars as well.

BTW- if you are simply a music lover, ignore any reviews that pan this box set for using a digital master. The fact is, the original analog master has long since bit the dust. But, it was used to make this digital master...or was for the most part where possible. A lot of very talented people worked painstakingly over this master to keep it as close to the original while enhancing the low end (which was always deficient in records from the 60's) a hair. They've even fixed dropouts and other technical problems that were on the original. I have no doubt that there may be some obscure German pressing that may sound nicer (by what 1-2%?) and cost almost as much per record as this whole set does.
But, for my money, this will do just fine thanks.

So if you don't already have these, get them. Enjoy the music. If you have a problem with one or all of the records, Amazon has a great return policy.

I will make my review simple and short.

First of all, this box set which is pressed in USA (at Rainbo) had literally no quality control. At first inspecting the records during the evening (it was dark) I discovered that two records are warped and had "non-fill" issues, scuffs and greasy fingerprints on them. The other day I took my time and watched all of the records in the daylight and discovered that ALL of the records (besides two records) are either warped, have scuffs, or "non-fill" issues. Thats insane! And because of that these records have a lot of sound problems and are visually just painful to look at.

Secondly, I totally understand amazon.ca and that this isnt their fault. Amazon.ca has been totally helpful to sort the problems out and I thank them for that.
