So I figured a year went by, maybe they have fixed the issues with the USA set or maybe I would get a EU Set (I asked Amazon before ordering and they could not say which one I would get). So I ordered late November 2013, and unfortunately I got the USA box and it is STILL riddled with problems. I contacted Amazon to replace it and they passed me the manufacturer`s email to replace discs that were defective (in other words Amazon KNOWS they are still charging for and shipping defective sets). Since about 10 of the discs were faulty in the set I received (warped, off center, no-fill issues, Abbey Road side 2 had a gash on it like it had been dropped a couple of times), I asked for a replacement of the FULL SET and they said no they would only supply the email address to replace single discs. So I asked then to change it from replace to reimburse so now I am sending the box back to Amazon on their dime for a full refund.
Amazon and EMI/Capitol should be ASHAMED that they are still sending out USA sets riddled with problems. This is one year after release and MANY complaints, to the point where Amazon has a cut-and-paste reply to contact EMI directly for replacements. They KNOW these sets suck, yet they still sell them. I know some people are getting the EU set from Amazon.ca but I was not one of the fortunate. The Beatles catalog DESERVES BETTER! I guess I will continue to listen to my original LPs and the CDs, but I really wanted this set to complete my collection. I will hopefully someday find a company with more INTEGRITY to be forward about which set they are shipping (in other words, DO NOT buy the USA set, I can only hope the EU set is better quality, the one I got was so bad it was really a joke - and we are talking 13 months after initial release and still have not fixed their QC issues....).
