still life, lukewarm,
By A Customer
This review is from: Still Life: Crime Scene Do Not Cross (CD-ROM)
Upsides:Still Life was a fascinating game, with an interesting story line, great graphics and original puzzles that, for the most part, fit into the context of the game. You play two players alternately, Victoria and Gus, her grandfather, which added some originality and depth to the game. Gus' character, and the storyline set in Prague, was particularly believable and well done. Victoria's could have been developed more. There were subtle allusions to a deeper past, but you don't find out much about it. Cons: Although the game had some great elements, and had the potential to be a very good game, the ending certainly put a damper on things.

Great Detective Game,
By A Customer
This review is from: Still Life: Crime Scene Do Not Cross (CD-ROM)
This was a very engaging and addictive game. The story line is very compelling and the graphics are good. The puzzles were not difficult to solve but very creative. I had a lot of trouble with the laser room and the robot but I looked up the cheats on the Internet and got through it. There were very few annoying quirks to this game although it would be better if once you have finished with something, it no longer shows it as a hotspot. The only flaw is the ending which leaves the identity of the murderer in question. Watch all the credits to get one final scene with the main character. It also asserts that the "adventure continues online" and indeed the installment puts a website icon on your desktop. However, the website does not seem accessible. Perhaps they are not ready? The game took me around 16 hours to play and I wish it had been longer.
