3.0 out of 5 stars Basic Information, Sep 10 2011

(TOP 1000 REVIEWER)    (REAL NAME)
This book provides the reader with a "very" basic understanding of the stock market.
Not a bad choice for the stock market illiterate.

If you are looking for information a bit more in-depth or if you already process a basic understanding of the stock market,
you may find this book a bit too elementary.

Several great chapters on assessing your finances, risks and intentions with regard to investing.

What I disliked most about this book, is the introduction of a topic or idea followed by "this will be cover later in chapter ....".
For me, this lead to a really choppy disjointed unenjoyable read.

Perhaps skimming the book before purchasing might be a good idea.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stock Investing Finally Explained, Jan 31 2005
A Kid's Review - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Stock Investing For Canadians For Dummies (Paperback)
This book is simply great. After trudging through a myriad of online 'help' sites, I came to the conclusion that I needed to start at the beginning. That's where this book shines. If you really have no idea what stock investing is all about, this book explains the how and why from step one. The author goes further than simple stock trading basics to cover the bigger picture. He covers all aspects of financial planning in a very big way. I highly recommend this to the person who is wondering what all those tickers mean at the bottom of the news screen.
