She did it again!, July 28 2009
By Lisa Catto - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Stolen Heat (Mass Market Paperback)
I adored Elisabeth Naughton's first book, STOLEN FURY. She has perfected a ratio of action to romance that I look for in a romance novel. Her books aren't too heavy on the action, but it's substantial enough to keep the story moving. I was not disappointed with STOLEN HEAT at all. Sometimes I wonder how a second book will stack up to an author's first - and in this case, Naughton came through. STOLEN HEAT has the action and adventure that was thrilling in the first, and the steamy romance, but it's done in a way that is different from the first. The second book is a reunion story, which I appreciate because it stands apart from the first book. She skillfully uses a few flashback sequences to share with the reader just how much Peter and Kat loved each other before they were torn apart. They were written and placed in a way that the transition was smooth.
I love Naughton's characters too! Peter and Kat are flawed enough to be real, but smart enough to know how to make their love for each other work. Kat is a tough woman and enjoyable to read. And let's just say, I'm sure you'll wish that Peter was real ;) I highly recommend both STOLEN FURY and STOLEN HEAT. I can't wait for Naughton's third, and final, book in the series, STOLEN SEDUCTION.
A blurb about the book:
His past tore them apart. Her lies thrust them back together. Now a killer's out for revenge, but the biggest threat for both may just be the heat they thought they'd already lost...
Antiquities dealer Peter Kauffman walked a fine line between clean and corrupt for years. And then he met the woman who changed his life--Egyptologist Katherine Meyer. Their love affair burned white-hot in Egypt, until the day Pete's lies and half-truths caught up with him. After that, their relationship imploded, Kat walked out, and before Pete could find her to make things right, he heard she'd died in a car bomb.
Six years later, the woman Pete thought he'd lost for good is suddenly back. The lies this time aren't just his, though. The only way he and Kat will find the truth and evade a killer out for revenge is to work together--as long as they don't find themselves burned by the heat each thought was stolen long ago...

Great second book in the trilogy!, Oct 8 2009

This a really good book if you like romance and suspense with a little bit of "naughty" in the mix.The first book in the trilogy is Stolen Fury - read it initially. The third comes out in January. I give them 5 stars. I've been reading this genre' for over 30 years and I compare Naughton to early Rosemary Rogers with a little Nora Roberts thrown in. Worth the time spent reading.

Top notch Romantic Suspence That Delivers, Jan 23 2010

This review is from: Stolen Heat (Mass Market Paperback)
For the past six years Peter Kauffmann has never be able to forget the white-hot affair he and Katharine Meyer enjoyed while he was in Egypt dealing antiquities and Katharine was working at an archaeological dig.
But a series of unfortunate circumstances and misunderstandings forced them to part on a sour note and before Peter can clear the air and set things right between them he discovers that Kat has "died" in a car bomb explosion..or did she.
In fact Kat Meyer with the aid of a former, CIA ex-boyfriend Marty staged her own death to protect her friends and family from some pretty nefarious thugs who would like nothing better than to get their hands on her and some damaging information they believe she has in her possession.
Peter has to get over his disbelief at seeing Kat alive and well and put aside his feelings of betrayal quick as he soon discovers that the recently resurrected Kit-Kat (loved the nickname) has embroiled him in a heap of trouble, including being drugged, dodging bullets and on the run for his life as they attempt to evade a group of really bad middle-eastern hitmen.
Stolen Heat is a reunion story between Peter and Kat. Naughton weaves between the past and present through out the novel, telling the back-story between the two lovers which allows us readers the insight to understand the actions and feelings Peter and Kat had for one another in the past and how it affects their present day relationship.
Stolen Heat is a roller-coaster ride and an action-packed adventure love story. It has all the elements I enjoy in a romantic suspense novel and I loved it.
Next up Stolen Seduction and I can't wait to read Hailey Roake's story. She first made an appearance in book one Stolen Fury as Rafe's ex-wife. It promises to be as entertaining as the last 2 books.
