To be honest, I wasn't expecting much from this movie, having read the book in 1st year University & not being completely taken with it at that time. But the film, in my opinion, actually brings the book to life & is absolutely brilliant! It completely keeps your attention concentrated and is a film that most women & many men could really relate to. Highly recommended.

Tells the story of Hagar Shipley, a feisty independent woman who makes her own choices and way in the world. Good performances by all, though Ellen Page only has a small girlfriend part in the last 20% of the film.
