This " STONE IDOL "Is Worth Its Weight In Gold,
By A Customer
This review is from: Hardy Boys 65: The Stone Idol (Hardcover)
The Hardys apply for an detective job through a newspaper ad. The ad requires the services of a detective. The man wants the Hardys to track down a precious stone idol that was stolen from his bag in Santiago, Chile. Seems he doesn't know how it was stolen in the first place. The Hardys travel to Santiago, Chile and immediately start their search for the stone idol. Turns out that they find it and then it is stolen right before their very eyes. The trail leads them into the Andes where they begin a dangerous trek to find the man who stole the idol. Before they can find the idol the boys are asked by their father in his investigation into finding a ring of thieves pilfering U.S. navy bases. They travel to Antarctica in there quest to help thier father. Once they get there their lives are almost ended in snow storm. All in all this book was awesome from start to finish. It had lots of adventure, action, and suspense. What can I say? This book had everything. Its available in the hardcover format to which makes it a complete book.

The Stone Idol,
A Kid's Review - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: The Stone Idol (Paperback)
This book was a little too predictable, and just had the stuff that took up the pages. Only exciting thing was the conclusion near the end of the story. Well, actually not so exciting. However, if I had to choose between a book that said yeah on every page, I'd read The Stone Idol.

This review is from: Hardy Boys 65: The Stone Idol (Hardcover)
If you enjoy travelling to far off places, then this is an okay story easy to understand. From Peruvian mountains, to the Antarctic, to Easter Island and then back to the states, this basically is a fill-in book with no real mystery. 1 of 3 people found the following review helpful

One Of The Worst Hardy Boys Books!,
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: The Stone Idol (Paperback)
Frank and Joe are hired to go to Chile to find a stolen Easter Island stone idol and also go to Antarctica to help their father catch a gang of thieves. This book is bad. It lacks mystery, action or suspence. The plot is thin and the whole Antarctica part only serves to fill pages. A boring read from beginning to end.
