4.0 out of 5 stars My equine science bible, April 28 2005
By Lindsey - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Storey's Guide to Raising Horses: Breeds/Care/Facilities (Paperback)
I have owned, raised, and trained my own horses from a very young age and even though I already know the basics, I found this book to be very useful. From basic horse keeping to in depth descriptions of many equine health problems, this book is one that even the experienced rider and horse owner should have. It contains fabulous drawings and seperates each sections accordingly. I have not found a basic question that this book couldn't answer. It is a must have for any horseman.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Informative, Sep 2 2011
By otherwiseknownasmom "otherwiseknownasmom" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Storey's Guide to Raising Horses: Breeds/Care/Facilities (Paperback)
I purchased these books as a starting point for learning about horse care. We recently purchased five horses. I've been riding horses for years, but have never had sole responsiblity for a horse's care. This book was very straightforward and easy to look up specific information. The diagrams are informative and helpful. I don't agree with all the advice it gives in the book, but then I never agreed with one hundred percent of what was written in baby books when I had my children either! I think they turned out OK!

This review is from: Storey's Guide to Raising Horses: Breeds/Care/Facilities (Paperback)
This book is not a child's book, but contains information on every horse topic conceivable. It's a good reference for someone new to horse ownership because it contains information on just about everything!
