Product Description

SHALE is finally free from his greatest enemy. But now, he is responsible for bringing life-giving rain to all the people of the Quartern. He must stretch his powers to the limit or his people will die-if they don't meet a nomad's blade first. And while Shale's own highlords and waterpriests plot against him, his Reduner brother plots his revenge.

TERELLE is Shale's secret weapon, covertly boosting his powers with her own mystical abilities. But she is compelled by the strange magic of her people and will one day have to leave Shale's side. No one knows what waits for her across the desert, but her people gave the Quartern its first Stormlord and they may save Shale and his people once again-or lead them to their doom.

This is the final volume of the epic Stormlord series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Ending to a Great Series, Aug 15 2011

This review is from: Stormlord's Exile (Mass Market Paperback)
I have loved every word of Glenda Larke's Watergivers trilogy! The characterization was excellent. Shale/Jasper's growth from a young boy to Stormlord was well portrayed, logical, and provided proper motivation for all that happened. All the main characters, both the good and the bad, were people the reader could become vested in. They were fleshed out sufficiently to make them very real to the reader. Her settings were stunning. They had a good balance of minute detail and broad brush strokes. Ms. Larke never over did her settings. They were part of the story, not the story itself. I did not find myself skipping any paragraphs or pages. I was truly amazed at how Ms. Larke made all of the language adapt and revolve around the cultures and landscapes she created. This was especially true in the dialog. Here is a trilogy that is truly impressive and a pleasure to read!

3.0 out of 5 stars Final book not as good as first books in series, Aug 7 2011
By Matthew Marlowe - Published on Amazon.com

The first book or two in this series were great fun, but honestly I was somewhat bored throughout the first half of the latest entry. However, the pace of action picks up later and near the end is very good. Still, given this is the final book in the series, I was expecting more. Yes, most of the plot issues are handled and perhaps somewhat realistically but I'm not sure I gained anything by the reading.

4.0 out of 5 stars A decent entry, Sep 2 2011

The series really deserved a bit more than this at the end, while it's still good the author gets tied down with odd sub plots in the desert and tries to reconcile too many things in too short a time. The mysterious foreign land also did not live up to the intrigue which had been placed on it, being little more than a standard fantasy land. A strong series, but never quite captured the quality of the first book again.
