Streeet Kings,

This review is from: Street Kings (DVD)
The old drug wars with criminals and the cops. The various races of poverty to the rich. There was lots of fast paced action. There was tons of swearing from the Black gangsters who would have all the bling that looks like ten grand worth of diamond rings and watches, weapons, drugs and cars. I was so distracted by the ten grand in jewelry and their swearing. The silvery plated grills that look like seven thousand grand. The gang name of Scribble lol. All the black ghetto talk of White Boy etc. The expensive suits and the tattoos. It's a freaking American Gangster Rap Video. You don't have to affect and reach out to the rap fans of the world like that. I just find the whole hoopla hilarious. Chris Evans line was funny of I have a fiance and I would like to see her again while driving fast in the car. There was lots gruesome deaths. The Game was in the movie and so was Jay Mohr. Hugh Laurie was very funny and so was Cedric the Entertainer.

Street Kings......earns "Street Cred",

Street Kings is a gritty look at the iside look of police corruption within the L.A.P.D. Its been awhile since I have seen a movie like " Street Kings " . I think that this film takes it back to the old school genre of cop movies , but updated for today. Its smart and the action is intense. Its a movie that when you first see it , it leaves you guessing till the end as to "who done it". The style and way the movie is filmed and the way its directed , after your done watching you feel that it is plausible for it to occur in most metropolitan police forces today. Its a wild full throtle ride and I would strongly recommend this film to anyone.Trivia: The scene where Ludlow first meets Det. Diskant , and on his way out Ludlow pats an older man seated at a computer and says " Harry... I thought you were dead?" This is a reference to Reeves 1994 Movie Speed where he also played a L.A.P.D. cop partnered with actor Jeff Daniels who played the charactor: Det. Harry Temple , who dies in a house explosion.Street Kings

Street Kings worth a look but not highly memorable,

Street Kings is a cop movie starring Keanu Reeves as a tough detective with a tendency to take the law into his own hands. His methods are violent, dirty but highly effective. All of this goes wrong once he takes the heat for the death of his partner. This is a mildly effective thriller, the acting performances are quite good especially Reeves and Forrest Whittaker and the suspense is well-maintained. This is the kind of movie that entertains while you're watching but unfortunately you will likely not remember it two weeks after the viewing. There just have been way too many of these gritty LA cop movies but if that's your thing this is definitely worth a rental.
