HASH(0x9e1cc9cc) out of 5 stars There is no better interpreter of the TIPPETT quartets than this group Jan. 20 2015

There is no better interpreter of the TIPPETT quartets than this group ... The Tippett Quartet .. name very appropriate.
Tippet is like a child that is very excited when he writes, the ideas seems to just come at him and he expresses them freely.
When not handled carefully the quartet can sound incoherent and unfocused. But the Tippet Quartet players make all the sense out of these wonderful pieces, even the references to Beethoven's late quartets are much easier to discern.
The recording is very good too, I recommend the two sets
