First Sentence
In order to perform a structural analysis, the structural engineer invariably must idealize, or model, the actual structure, to a greater or lesser degree, depending on the complexity of the structure itself, the purpose for which the analysis is being made, and the computational tools at hand. Read the first page

Format: Hardcover
This book is quite good but its usability is lost to a great extent because it is not written in Metric units. Also, chapters on computer application are not well written

Excelent, reference Aug. 16 2011
By Arnoldo - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover Verified Purchase
It's a complete book, it has a introduction about structural analysis (indeterminate methods, very useful), also it has a chapter about retaining structures and foundations, reinforced concrete silos (reference DIN 1055 and ACI 313) and another topics buried conduits. Excelent reference of civil engineering.

damaged book Jan. 22 2011
By JJT - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover Verified Purchase
The book was damaged. The pages were bent and the binding was broken. Definitely not "new" condition. I needed the book and did not have time to return (or did I know how). It was shipped in a padded envelope vs a box. I e-mailed the seller with no response.
