2.0 out of 5 stars B-Side's Trash by GARBAGE standards Dec 19 1999
Format:Audio CD
With a few notable exceptions, you generally do NOT spend 10-plus dollars on a GARBAGE CD single for the remixes, but rather the unreleased B-sides. On that count, most any GARBAGE Maxi-CD is worth buying; but HOOOO boy is this one a waste. "Driving Lesson" is hands down their worst one ever. Shirley just whispers and sneers, and Mr. Vig and company seem like they just punched up a canned drumbeat and left the room. I cannot ill-advise any Amazon shopper enough... This CD bites.

4.0 out of 5 stars Just Take the Car! May 21 2000
Format:Audio CD
I personally thought "Driving Lesson" was the best song on here. "Stupid Girl" is, of course, still a great song to listen to. The Pal remix to "Dog New Tricks" was alright, but the Red Snapper Mix of "Stupid Girl" was terrible! It's still worth buying the single for "Stupid Girl", and "Driving Lesson". It's funny when you're listening to that one in the car :)

This cd is very good. Driving lesson has a very good sound too it. The remixes also are kinda dancey but they aren't the worse B-Side remixes I've ever heard. This cd all in all is good and I suggest that you buy this if u really like garbage...

5.0 out of 5 stars Shirl's the girl!!! Dec 6 2005
By Douglas D. Lang - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
Unlike the current crop of astringent female singers, such as Avril Lavigne and Fiona Apple, Shirley Manson has a real band to back up her singing. Songs on this CD single are Stupid Girl (lp version), Stupid Girl (Tee's radio mix), and Driving Lesson (previously unreleased)

3.0 out of 5 stars TRACK LISTING IN ERROR: Nov. 25 2006
By One World - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
Amazon's track listing for this cd single is in error. The accompanying songs actually are from another cd single for the song; "Queer" (see ASIN: B000006YX9).

The correct song listing is:

1. Stupid Girl

2. Alien Sex Fiend

3. Stupid Girl (Dreadzone Dub)

4. Stupid Girl (Dreadzone Vocal)

4.0 out of 5 stars pretend you're bored... July 5 2005
By Jesse Andrew - Published on Amazon.com

I have both the domestic single and part 1 of the import singles for Stupid Girl. I do not, however, have this one [part 2] The domestic has 3 tracks 1. album version 2. todd terry radio edit 3. driving lesson (previously unreleased)

The single is worth having. Todd Terry's mix is not too adventurous, but it is decent. But if you don't already have Driving Lesson, than you need the domestic Stupid Girl disc. It's an awesome song.

Disc one of the 2 dic import set is also called [the remixes] and has the original version along with 3 mixes and tbe bonus track Alien Sex Fiend. This latter track has no vocals save one: "You're an alien sex fiend..." The music is wonderful, you'll agree. And the lack of vocals is saved by the fact that the song is just delicious.

The Red Snapper remix is the only remix I found worth jamming to. It is not a danceable remix by any means, but it is the most adventurous mix, sounding the least like the original track. The versus and chorus have been removed from this version. Only a few lines are looped, but they are the best lyrics in the song and the eerie music gives it a great ambience. A great song to have going in the background.

I've gathered that disc 2 of the import set, the one i do not own, has a combination of tracks from the other singles, rendering it useless. the sleeve art looks very similar, the only difference being the blue flame, as opposed to the ruddy red hue on the other discs.

I hope this has been helpful. Synopsis, die hard fan or not, you probably don't 'need' to purchase this disc.
