I found this book decent but hard to follow myself. It has some css tips and tricks but overall if your a beginner i feel like there is many better or more beneficial books out there.

I bought this book for a computer savvy person in my life. He's quite the computer nerd, and he found a lot of neat ideas in this book. I don't know much about computers myself, but it has become a very appreciated and well used gift.

There are several books in the market that covers xhtml like the "DHTML and CSS for the World Wide Web: Visual QuickStart Guide". However, Ive discovered there to be too much information there (should be intended for intermediate and advanced designers) and unless you know what you are looking for, good luck filtering out what you need to get started.In Stylin' with CSS, you will find tutorials on how to create 2 and 3 column page layouts, mouseover menus, and of course styling your document. This is a terrific book to buy for beginner and intermediate designers. I've been HTML'ing for 8 years and this book has the right stuff to help you create your first css only web page; say hello to smaller file sizes and goodbye to complex html tables.
