Format: Paperback
On the back cover George Bowering suggests that every day you should read one of the stories. Terrific advice, as each of the 17 stories are a gem. So many times I found myself nodding affirmation, thinking that Renee Rodin must have been in my family's house, walking down a similar street, knowing secret information about a time we have shared. A book full of life's details that make us who we are. A wonderful experience.

Format: Paperback
Reading this is like spending a weekend with a much-missed and completely unpretentious friend; every time you start to get up from the table you have to pause to for one more refreshingly honest conversation. These stories are full of clarity, wit and insights, a delightful and profound exploration of how we are touched by those who, deeply or passingly, share our lives.
Just like your feeling after the weekend with the old friend, once you read it you will see your own life in a different light.

Soulful, penetrating book Jan. 14 2011

Format: Paperback
I really enjoyed reading the 17 personal essays in this piece. The stories here are full of deeply felt, acute observations about Renee Rodin's life and family in Vancouver, Montreal and elsewhere, but written with a generous eye and heart. We see into the author's world intimately and share her joys and sorrows in a variety of settings. Wonderful reading, and after I finished reading I saw things anew.
