The actual book section is colourful with lots of pictures, well set up and easy to read, covering all the information you would need to start embroidering. Although I find much better visuals of the actual stitches in "Doodle Stitching" by Aimee Ray, there is cartoon sketches of each stitch covered with full explanation of how to execute them.

There is a HUGE assortment of patterns in this book! Every theme you could think of for boys, girls, baby, food, lettering, banners etc. I have already used the patterns a dozen times. Theres pouches in the front and back to place cut pattern peices once you've used them, as each peice can be used up to 9 times, or possibly more.
