3.0 out of 5 stars deceptive Oct 27 2010
By Albert M. Kapustar - Published on Amazon.com
I bought this film expecting a great exploitation film and boy was I dissappointed. The box art and description on the back are nothing like the film.If you remove about 30 seconds, this film could be should on regular tv.It takes 55 minutes to get to the rapist break in,the husbands murder is done off screen, the big rape scene is done tastefully in 5 minutes with little nudity.the rest of the film is the rape victim tracking down the rapist. The accting is well done but it is nothing more then a tv movie so don't hold high expectations based on the cover or descritption

4.0 out of 5 stars An overlooked film Oct 11 2010
By Spider Labyrinth - Published on Amazon.com
"Submission of a Woman" aka "Al Calar della Sera" is part rape & revenge/part giallo film. It's a difficult film to watch, but is worth purchasing. Very intense! If you're a fan of "I Spit on Your Grave", "Assault!", "The Killer Must Kill Again", etc. Check this film out!!! Very overlooked!!!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Night Of The Woman Nov 24 2010

A variation on Director Meir Zarchi's revenge flick from the seventies 'I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE', Director Alessandro Lucidi's 'SUBMISSION OF A WOMAN' aka 'AL CALAR DELLA SERA' is much tamer but still gets the message across: Don't mess with the wrong woman. The intense Daniela Poggi plays an actress/model who is stalked by a nutzoid in a remote villa in an Italian countryside along with her babysitter and boyfriend for most of the films running time. Sounds like the usual stalk and slash fodder but Lucidi does it in stylish, almost giallo fashion making this film a must for all women who have gone through this demeaning experience but never receive justice as Poggi inflicts on actor Paolo Lorimar. Do not be deceived by the cover photo, its not as sleazy as its depicted. Mya Communication releases it in a full screen, sharp transfer in Italian with English Subtitles. Daniela Poggi may not be as kickass as Camille Keaton from 'GRAVE' but she still packs a punch. For those who want a much wilder escapade, view Director Piero Schivazappa's brilliant early seventies masterpiece 'THE FRIGHTENED WOMAN'. It would make a good double feature with this stylish, turning the tables on the attacker gem.
