Grade 9 Up–In what could almost be the novelization of a yet-to-be-produced WB series, three cousins embrace summer romance in their pursuit of various hot guys while vacationing in Maine. Characterization relies heavily on teen-magazinelike descriptions ("she was more an Avril than a Christina"), and most chapters begin with lengthy wardrobe summaries. Despite the superficiality, however, each of the girls' situations holds some interest, particularly in the realistic ways they mature throughout. Smoking, alcohol consumption, and sexuality are contextualized in a matter-of-fact way, with only a hint of after-school-special didacticism. wow okay summer boys was deff a great book. its hot sexy, and great for teenage girls. im not really a reader unless i have to and i literally couldnt put this one down. it pretty much was about 3 girls jaime, ella, and beth.i have to say though even though i love all 3 jaime was the least interesting, i enjoyed ella a bit more she was fun and wild but the whole beth situation got to me. i fell in love with her best friend/lover (o0o la la) george and their entire "romance." i am the slowest reader and i finished this in a day and a half because i just couldnt put it down!! lol and i even confess that i was so in love with beth and george that i reread the chapters about them after i finished the book...prolly bc i was on a road trip and bored but oh well! lol I REALLY ENJOYED THIS BOOK!!

Reading other reviews it seems like this book only captures the eyes of some girls, but I am one of them. This book takes you into the summer life of four girls and their summer guy problems. Each chapter was about one character and what had happend to her during that time. It was a great read and it wasn't really super long. I'm currently reading the second book: Next Summer, and I'm still loving it. I incurage you to buy it, if not go to your library or a site on the internet to learn more about it.

I absolutely loved this book. Beaches, boys, parties, friends, heartbreak... What more could you want?! Summer Boys was incredibly Amazing. I strongly reccomend this one.
