Book Description

Oct. 25 2011
For the second time in ten years, Grace Stone is starting over on Cedar Key. Grace first moved to the serene island to escape a disastrous relationship. Now a visit with her Aunt Maude is interrupted by unwelcome news: Grace's apartment and coffee shop have been destroyed by fire. Grace is devastated, yet ever-practical Maude has a plan. While she helps Grace resettle, Maude even has a business venture in mind - weekend knitting retreats where women can craft, chat, and support one another. But other surprises await, including the return of Grace's estranged sister, and a tentative romance with the local bookstore owner. Knitting together her past and future will mean untangling the painful threads Grace left behind. But the result could be a vibrant new life - and the courage to live it fully...

1.0 out of 5 stars DO NOT BUY June 2 2013
By Rachael - Published on
This was a terrible book. It appeared to be unedited and still contained spelling and grammatical mistakes. The plot line was flimsy and the characters contained no depth, they simply appeared superficial and reacted in ways that normal humans rarely do. The knitting was only a small sideline to the terrible Millls and Boon love story it was. I will never read another book by this author again.

don't bother. The characters are shallow and stereotypical and the plot is predictable. I finished it, but I'm not sure why.

4.0 out of 5 stars page-turning and compelling Oct. 8 2013

The evening before her move back to Cedar Keys, Gracie gets a phone call that shocks her to her core. Her coffee house and apartment have burned down. Luckily, her Aunt Maude has just purchased property in Cedar Keys and implores Gracie to rent the second apartment on her property.
Maude has an idea about having knitting retreat weekends, and with the love of knitting the family has, Gracie jumps at the idea and offers to partner the small business. However, there's one clinch in their plans. Gracie's older sister, Chloe, is going through a divorce and needs a place to stay and of course Maude can't say no. Unfortunately, Gracie and Chloe don't get along well.

Monica is pregnant and kept very busy. Her yarn store is going to be important to the new knitting retreat business, but it's more than Monica can juggle right now, so Dora and Chloe decide to partner up to run the store.

A tight community of women who lean on one another when times are tough and embrace one another in times of joy, Sunrise on Cedar Key is a heart-warming read! From laughter to tears, heartbreak to falling in love, there is something to cherish with the friendships these women nurture and build their lives upon. Even when the times get tough, they dig deep and find the strength to carry on. Terri Dulong is a master storyteller and her Cedar Key series is page-turning and compelling with wonderful characters. You won't want to miss it!
5.0 out of 5 stars love the Cedar Key series May 7 2014

Love the feeling of friendship between everyone in the whole town, and how everyone is willing to help each other. The author makes the people seem real, and as you read the books in the series you feel like you're revisiting friends.

I love the setting. Cedar Key is where I go for long quiet weekends. The characters are people that I would love to meet and get to know, if only they were real people.
