5.0 out of 5 stars Simply the Best, Nov 10 2003
By
B. Gale (Davis, CA, USA) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Superman - Archives, VOL 03 (Hardcover)
As far as the Golden Age of Comics goes, everyone must agree that Superman is at the top of the list. Action Comics is where it all started and unless you want to pay thousands of dollars for EACH issue, this is your best bet. DC Comics really outdid themselves on this one. The hard bound format means you can read them over and over again without the worry of demolishing your investment (if you had the originals). These are great books and I just can't say enough good things about them. Buy yours today!

5.0 out of 5 stars More classic Superman stories from the 1940s!, Aug 4 2002
By
B. Mah "Bill" (Edmonton, AB, Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Superman - Archives, VOL 03 (Hardcover)
Published in 1991, Superman Archives volume 3 reprints Superman (first series) #9-12 from the early 1940s. Some stories featured include the first bald Lex Luthor in comic books and a story where Lois first suspects Clark of being Superman. There's quite a few stories featuring the usual World War II references, battling spies and the Nazis as comic books were thrown into the war at the time. Still an enjoyable read back in time. To all Superman fans, and fans of classic stories from the Golden Age of comics, get this book.
