About the Author
Alex Irvine is the author of seven novels, including The Narrows, A Scattering of Jades, and Batman: Inferno, and two collections of short stories, most recently Pictures from an Expedition. He has also written a Marvel Comics series, Hellstorm: Son of Satan, and online narratives. His fiction, which has been translated into nine languages, has won the Locus, Crawford, and IHG awards and been nominated for the Pushcart Prize and the World Fantasy Award. In 2005, he was awarded the New England Press Association's top prize for investigative journalism, and that same year was part of a writing team that won a Webby and the International Game Developers Association Innovation award.

A must have for any Supernatural Fan!,

Being a huge fan of Supernatural I have always wanted to be able to flip through the Journal that has guided the boys throughout their journey. This book gives me that opportunity. Right from the leather look of the book to the wording, this book has it all. I especially love the background story of how the journal began, the drawings of the 'creatures and demons' and the 'post-it's' that have been added as detail. Definitely a must have for any SN fan!

Any fan of "Supernatural" knows that John Winchester, father of Dean and Sam, began the hunt for the demon who killed his wife. But John Winchester started his demon-hunting career without information to go on, and his notebook - often referenced in the TV show - is a delightful compendium of personal reactions, monster lore, and diagrams of the macabre. John Winchester's journal fills in gaps and elaborates on the background of the episodes, sometimes chilling, and sometimes, in his portrayal of deep but unsentimental family love, often moving.

Everything I thought it would be and more,

I'm only halfway through so far but I had to write a review anyway. The descriptions of his thoughts and worries are incredible. I've always wondered what may have been behind the curtain of his feelings for Mary. Now so much is clear.The tendency to pick up a loved one's habits are evident. This is a much more tender side to John. For instance, I never knew there were different materials for anniversary gifts every single year you are together. For every Supernatural fan I recommend this book!
