5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent starter! July 3 2012

This book is not at all what I was expecting - it was more detailed and thorough. It starts with staples you will need to make your own sushi then moves on to recipes for sauces and fillings you will want to put in your sushi. Finally, it has how to make the rolls and recipes for several different ones. I guess I was expecting just what to put in them and how to roll them. This includes everything!
I had never thought of sushi as a breakfast food but am looking forward to trying the Sunny Jim Roll this weekend for breakfast!

1.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely not worth it July 26 2012

This is a very short account of how one can make sushi. The descriptions in the recipes are really short and I don't think they can help anyone to get started.
Furthermore there's no great variety in the recipes and the authors do not share many useful tips. I wouldn't really reccomend this book for anyone.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good basic introduction to Sushido -- the Way of the Tuna Jan 31 2013

Sushi is not that difficult to make, but it does require learning a couple of techniques. This book teaches you how to make "family style" sushi. Nothing fancy but simple and good. Most of the ingredients are easy to obtain and a lot of the types of sushi can be made with ingredients found in a regular grocery store. The techniques work and the result is tasty.
