Enjoyed this book and will continue to do so for some time to come. Clear, organized and focused one can learn a great deal about this designer and know that Ms. Kasler is a very confident person who is happy to share with the readers from her experiences. A good reference book as well - pleased to add four stars to this review.

I love Suzanne's style, she has a European sensibility. Her work is traditional with a twist. I am selective about what design books I purchase. Suzanne's work is timeless.

Inspriring and yet pragmatic, too Feb. 8 2010
By Jennifer Sheehan - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover Verified Purchase
I purchased several design books this year, and this is by far the best. The style of Inspired Interiors is fresh, classic, timeless and never stuffy or overdone. The commentary is very easy-to-read, and offers straightforward, pragmatic advice. Whether you are looking for a gift, or want a good guide for yourself that looks lovely on the coffee table, you can't go wrong with this book.

Beautiful design book Jan. 2 2010

I would recommend this one, especially if you have a transitional style of decorating. Very glamorous rooms with a good balance of femininity and splashes of color mixed with neutral tones.

Isn't She Wonderful? Jan. 13 2010
By Jen E. - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
I've been a fan of Suzanne Kasler for years. Her work is polished and refined, yet casual, relaxed and effortless. I had the privilage of working with her as a rep when I managed a trade-only showroom in Atlanta. She has phenomenal taste and her style is unique. Her work is definitely worthy of it's own book. Great job Suzanne, you've always inspired me!

A great starting point for ideas May 20 2011
By James A. Long - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover Verified Purchase
I bought this book shortly after buying a home that needed to be decorated. I found that it contained a lot of great ideas that could be incorporated into any budget with a little imagination. To be clear, if you want to exactly mimic what she is doing, then you better have a fat wallet. But, for most of us, the book is still very useful for seeing what is possible with an unlimited budget, and then working our way down from there.

There is one picture in the middle of the book that looks as though it was taken with a camera phone, but the majority of the pictures are beautiful. And of course, since Kasler's designs so frequently include decorative books, the book is designed in such a way that it would fit right in with her rooms.

Each room has a little blurb from the designer about what she was thinking, with some general principles that she follows. The writing sounds self-important and self-indulgent, but the ideas that she attempts to put forward are worth hearing out. All in all, a book worth getting.

Uninspired and unimpressed Sept. 28 2012
By Yours truly, - Published on Amazon.com

While the cover is nice, I felt I wasted my money on this book - twice (I purchased it twice by mistake). Kasler's rooms do nothing for me. She doesn't use contrast of either value (dark and light) or tone or hue (color). Most of her rooms are an amorphous glob of one value and one hue, which is particularly unpleasant. She isolates chairs by themselves with no table nearby and no lamps of any kind - making the seating useless for anything. Or she has entire living room seating areas without any lighting. Basically, she gathers items other people designed into a grouping that's unusable for actual living and it's not even pleasant to be in. Her rooms are often painted the same color on ceilings, walls and woodwork. There are a few exceptions and the cover image is one of them - it does use contrast although you can see her monochrome walls, woodwork and ceilings. I did like her choice of wall art - she uses a lot of framed drawings which gives a low presence to the artwork. That's all I liked. Her furniture was uncomfortable.
