3.0 out of 5 stars Has most of what I needed April 2 2011

The manual, I think, is meant for people who already know how to perform some basic mechanic jobs, like cleaning carburetors or replacing fork seals. Therefore, simple tasks like these are not in the manual. However, tasks like changing the oil are in the manual, meaning this book is somewhat incomplete. Disappointing, I wanted information on cleaning the carbs and replacing front fork seals. It also does not identify signs of problems, like visual evidence of a front fork seal.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great manual for new riders Sep 7 2011

I am a new bike owner, so I wanted a manual that would help me keep my bike running and in top shape. This manual has a very detailed section on routine maintenance which fits my needs perfectly. While I haven't had any need to do any difficult tasks, this manual has given me the confidence and ability to perform smaller tasks such as changing the oil and cleaning/lubing the chain. Tasks that I otherwise would have had to rely on a professional motorcycle mechanic to do for me. Needless to say its saved me money and prevented me from having to go without my bike while some mechanic takes his sweet time getting to it.

Everything was easy to understand and figure with this book. I have no real mechanical knowledge except oil changes. I was able to diagnose why my speedometer, odometer, and high bean indicator backlight wouldn't work with this book. Also it gives you a maintenance schedule when and what to do. Great book
