Violet Blue and Rose Caraway combine forces to give couples what they've been craving! Wow! July 25 2013
By quietforests - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
How does one write a "clean" review on something as hardcore as the offerings within this collection of 20 stories? More importantly, how does one say "hardcore" without scaring couples away from an otherwise amazing audiobook experience? Do not be afraid, couples! This one is for you! Prepare to be aroused!

In general, Violet Blue's selection of stories for Sweet Dangers has something for everyone! Despite the wildly varying content throughout the collection that would sometimes lead us to the very edge of our comfort zone, we easily enjoyed almost all of these smoking hot offerings! As with any collection, some were more enjoyable than others, but for the most part, we found the entire experience incredibly arousing and satisfying. How does this happen? How is it that this audiobook can push just about every taboo button imaginable, but leave us smiling and turned-on at the end of each story? Well, there are actually TWO reasons for this.

First and foremost, Rose Caraway. For those of you not familiar with Rose's work as a writer and narrator at her incredibly sexy "The Kiss Me Quick's Podcast," you are in for a very sweet treat! Rose takes her work as a narrator very seriously, bringing about a tangible sense of empathy from her "lurid listeners" for all of her characters. Even during some of the particularly rough scenes in Sweet Dangers, you will discover a degree of safety and sanctuary in Rose's sexy-yet-intelligent bedroom voice, as she boldly guides you towards an ending you were probably not expecting. And at no point does Rose ever come off as the cheesy, air-headed seductress (unless called for, of course) as she smoothly and confidently guides you through this incredibly hot anthology. From the scenes requiring the lightest and loving of touches, to the darker, knife-edged scenes where the protagonists are kneeling on wet floors in dark places, Rose will guide you safely to each story's climax, and you will love her for it. Time and again you will "see" Rose become the characters in these stories . . . it's a pretty amazing thing to hear.

And of course there are the stories themselves to consider! Although there is a noticeable range of talent here, the most important commonality between them all is the ability of the writers to bring the ship safely back to shore after piloting us passengers through choppy and unpredictable waters -- probably the most important consideration considering the target demographic here (couples). Although we wanted some of the stories to continue, at no point did we as a listeners feel ripped off or or stranded by the work in Sweet Danger.

We could easily review each of the 20 stories here from memory, but doing so without giving away spoilers would be a tricky endeavor. These tales are guaranteed to titillate; they will probably generate discussion between you and your partner; they will scare you; they will thrill you; they will push buttons that you probably didn't know existed . . . but most importantly, they will turn you on. For couples beginning to explore their sexual boundaries through good fiction, we suggest starting off with "Dress Me Up" or "In the Back of Raquel" before moving on to the more intense fare such as "Old Friends" or "Cocked and Loaded." For those of you who have already enjoyed these stories in print form, please consider giving it another go with Rose Caraway as your co-pilot . . . you'll probably get a completely different experience.

If I had ONE suggestion for future collaborations of this kind, it would be for the inclusion of MUSIC. Regular listeners of Caraway's podcast have come to expect not only amazing performances from the narrator herself, but the addition of perfectly-timed music from some amazing artists that help drive the stories home. Just a little music would've taken this experience to a whole other level.

Cheers!

Hot and Sexy!!! July 25 2013
By Lily K. Cho - Published on Amazon.com
This is the first audiobook I've ever listened to, but as an author and long-time collector, I'm no stranger to erotica. I enjoy reading erotica at the dog park, in a waiting room, or to my partner in the bedroom. I was excited to try an audio book, which we could listen to together (and as a bonus would not get me carsick if I listened to it in the car!). I was very pleasantly surprised by Rose Caraway's clear voice; she is very easy to understand, reads at a good pace (not too fast, not dragging along), and her sweet, feminine voice reading those hot, spicy words makes it even sexier. As for the words themselves, Violet Blue never fails to deliver exciting authors and stories with delightful twists. These are bold stories that will give you many hours of pleasure and, more importantly, spark your imagination to liven up your own bedroom play in unexpected and wicked ways.

DUPLICATE CONTENT IF U HAVE "TABOO" - 14 / 22 STORIES SAME! July 28 2012
By Origasmart - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
Was just about to purchase this book (figured if I liked 1 compiliation by Violet BLue, I'd probably like the others) but I noticed the info listed story lines that sounded familiar. Thank goodness I looked up table of contents of this book, "Sweet Danger." It contains 14 of the SAME STORIES already in "Taboo Forbidden Fantasies for Couples" (which I'd just gotten & really enjoyed it in general)!!! If I'd bought it, I'd only be getting about 1/2 dz new stories! That's SO WRONG! If you're going to rename & republish a collection - at least SAY SO!!! Wanted to be sure to do a review so people considering this will know. As far as the stories go, they're what I had hoped, short erotica stories covering a variety of 'kinks' & plenty of explicit sex. The writing was decent, stories were fairly well done & they did their job, getting me 'in the mood.' As w/any anthology, some I liked, some I thought too tame, too boring, or just not my scene. It was certainly better than a lot of junk here being sold as 'erotica' or stories w/'explicit sex.' So far, I've found MOST don't deliver, either not enough sex, too short, or written so poorly & blandly (or all 3), that doinig laundry is more exciting. V.B.'s anthologies are, at least, decent (well, not really, that's the point - but you know what I mean!) quality. Book size, 260 pages, is a 'real' book (not an oversized pamphlet like alot are) so price is OK. Don't remember if new or used, buy can say any 'used' i've order from good to like new have been all in excellent shape. Also note my experience has been that many times even w/shipping charges it's cheaper to buy books w/o the 'super saver shipping' status - & usually ship faster, too! JUST BEWARE of duplication!!! This is so MISLEADING & FRAUDULENT as far as I'm concerned when nothing is done to indicate it's mostly filled w/stories printed under another title! BUYER BEWARE
These are stories about DANGEROUS EROTIC FANTASIES May 11 2014
By Bonnie - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Dangerous Fantasies, Knowing this you have to understand even though the stories may sound as if the person is being forced to do something against their will, in fact it is part of their most desired sexual fantasy. The best part is the person they love and share their life with chooses to help them fulfill their fantasy. The only part that bothered me was that most of the fantasies were for woman. I know for a fact MEN have fantasies and would like to have them fulfilled as well. I only remember reading one such story, in a collection of 20. Maybe in the next anthology there will be more MALE DANGEROUS EROTIC FANTASIES.
Embracing the darker side of erotic fantasies. Sept. 14 2013
By Erik Michael Oliver - Published on Amazon.com
When approaching audiobooks, you really have to consider two reviews: one for the narrator, and one for the material itself. I'll tackle the second one first.

Violet Blue, in her introduction, warns that the material inside can be quite dark, and I couldn't agree more. Erotica, probably more than any other fiction, is very personal and can be quite divisive, and I have to admit I've never come across an anthology with more highs and lows than this one. Several of the stories I found very intriguing, and a couple downright hot, but at least one story almost made me throw my iPod across the room. I'm all for angry or dangerous sex, but some of the "fantasies" here seemed to me to border on hate and spite, pulled out of the abyss (rather cheaply I beleive) at the last moment with the comforting assurance that all parties were willing. I'm a firm believer in "to each their own", but be warned that there will come across some hash material, some of it quite uncomfortable for most people. Caveat emptor.

Now for the narrator. I"m a great admirer of Rose Caraway, whose enthusiam and obvious delight in narrating erotica, along with the perfect blend of little girl and lustful succubus that is her voice really sells the material, especially when she's voicing the women. She REALLY gets into it, and rest assured you WILL react.

Overall I think this was a worthwhile anthology, but like I said be prepared to the possibility of being turned off as well as on. Perhaps I wouldn't have had as strong a reaction if I had been reading it instead if listening to it, but Rose's passionate reading, really bringing out the rawness of some stories, made some of the scenes too vivid for me, and I suspect some of you as well...so proceed with caution.
