"Kincaid," Ivy yelled as she began pulling on her boots. "You sneak! You kidnapped me!"
Nick walked in from the porch, his dark hair still wet from the shower. She wanted to kick herself for noticing how gorgeous he looked.
"What were you thinking," she demanded, "putting me to sleep in your bed?"
"Just wanted to make sure you got a good night's sleep for a change. If you won't take care of yourself, someone else will have to do it for you. You needed sleep, I was just trying to see that you got it," he said.
"I should have known I couldn't trust you," she muttered. "In the future, I would appreciate it if--"
She completely lost her train of thought when he crossed the room in three quick steps and pulled her into his arms, his silver-blue eyes sizzling with laughter and determination. His mouth was slick and tasted of peppermint toothpaste. She closed her eyes for a moment--just one teensy moment, she promised herself--and savored the feel of him against her.
But she didn't fight him when he wrapped his arms around her and pulled her closer, until she could feel the heat of him burning through her clothes. She wanted more, much more. . . .
