4.0 out of 5 stars There are actually 33 volumes, Sep 20 2006
By Idahoser - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Tom Swift and the Electronic Hydrolung. (Hardcover)
I had all but the last one, and my wife paid $450 to complete my set. It was actually at the store I bought these books from (Woolworth) for $1 when I was collecting these those decades ago, but when I was ready to buy it it was gone. I couldn't even prove it existed for many years, and was even beginning to doubt myself (after all I remembered the "Megascope Space Probe" but it really is "Prober". My way was better.
My dream of building the Diving Seacopter never panned out, but I still have very fond memories of these books. Yeah, they seem a little silly now, many of them. But they were exactly what I needed back then.

4.0 out of 5 stars Repelatron Ray invention, Dec 8 2003
By David P. Skiff - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Tom Swift and the Electronic Hydrolung. (Hardcover)
This is the book that introduces the Repelatron Ray invented by Tom Jr. This invention is crucial to many of Tom's future inventions especially Tom's unusual Spaceship (Challenger) which is used in many future adventures. This book takes place under the sea - the repelatron is used to hold back the water and create a large bubble to reveal an ancient undersea city.
I grew up on this series and my 12 year old grandson read all 28 volumes in about 6 weeks. That is how gripping they are for the young mind...
