The selection and quality of the pressings is undeniable. The packaging is also unusual but pleasant looking.
There is a major drawback though which I find applicable only to the vinyl edition - the internal sleeve is made of a material which absolutely hugs (and grinds against) the record due to static charge. Simply inserting and removing the record from that internal sleeve will cause harsh scratches, and its use was VERY poorly thought out by the manufacturer. An easy work around is to use some nice plastic sleeves to protect the record, but that won't prevent the scratches cause upon insert at the packaging facility or protect the record from scratches the first time you remove it (which, in my experience, even that one-time action will cause scratches causing permanent light surface noise - it is definitely surface noise and not a product of the age of the recordings). If you don't mind butchering the packaging, you could probably cut the internal sleeve, peel it apart, and remove the record safely that way (but I still suspect there were scratches on the initial insertion).
So, the choice of sleeve material was absolutely horrible on the vinyl edition and I urge great caution if you purchase the vinyl - the packaging deserves one star. Otherwise, I have no complaints about the music or pressing whatsoever. In every other respect, it exceeds the highest standards and deserves 5 stars (making the packaging flaw all the more grating).
