I have read the entire Sword of Truth series all the way up to Naked Empire (which when I was in the book store I bought on sight despite the price simply because I love the series so much.) I LOVE this series and have acutally, I'll admit it, read it twice. Terry Goodkind manages to create a new world just for the readers and flesh it out enough to make it almost angible yet still leaves a lot up to the readers imagination. It's the perfect mix of telling you what to see and letting you see if for yourself. I would suggest to anyone that they read this series.

Let me start off by saying that I do not normally like Fantasy novels. I've tried to read a few, and I find most of them extremely boring. I do like the fantasy genre, i.e. movies, and I like Tolkien, but for the most part, fantasy novels in and of themselves are boring to me. Anyways, my husband is a fan of the fantasy genre, and we were together for 2 years before he finally convinced me to read these books. We made a deal that if I read the SoT series, he would read the Harry Potter series. Well, I read them all the first time voraciously! I have not been so engrossed in a book series since Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings! These books are easy to read for those of us who don't normally read fantasy novels, and they are extremely exciting and suspensful! I found myself skipping household chores so that I could sit down with Richard and Kahlan and find out what would happen next to them. I am now on my 2nd time through them, and even though I know what to expect now, they are no less exciting! I am so in love with these stories that I became a regular on Terry Goodkind's website and found out about Naked Empire before my husband did!! I recommend these books to anybody who loves a good story, with romance, drama, suspense, and a bit of comedy. I can't wait to start on Naked Empire!

I picked up the first book when a friend loaned it to me mid-september, and i finished all the existing books by the end of october (around a busy class schedule), and I've been impatiently waiting for naked empire ever since then. now (april 2003), i'm starting to re-read them (more slowly this time) so they're fresh in my mind when naked empire comes out. these books are amazing, i usually don't like fantasy/sci-fi/magic, or whatever category these books fall into, but i loved them. so did my mother who usually only reads mysteries and trashy romance novels.
